[ she's still a bit hungover, so that yell? straight into her brain, rattling uncomfortably around her skull. it's enough to keep her from fully dodging his swing as the bat hits her forearm. she grunts at the contact, quickly gritting her teeth to suppress any more noise. don't focus on the damage, focus on him. she goes for a kick in retaliation - give a little most space, a better opportunity to strike with the end of the blade using a quick horizontal slash. ]
[ he doesn't expect the kick, somehow, so she's able to connect pretty solidly and wind him a bit. he slides back, stopping himself from going any further by planting his foot on the ground and raising his bat to hold off her next strike. he certainly isn't trained; his style is extremely unpolished and most definitely that of someone who's only ever known street fighting.

so, she gets whacked, and it's then she shifts from being relatively nice and not trying to actively kill him, to tapping into something more feral. her followup is a 3-hit series of slashes - just by nature of holding a metal implement and knowing how to block should keep ichiban from being vivisected, however. even though she's getting wilder with her swings, there's a degree of finesse to her movements that show that she is, in fact, an experienced swordfighter. ]
